"Perforated bowel"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I collapsed suddenly with severe abdominal pain and arrived at Broomfield by ambulance. Following a scan I was diagnosed with a perforated bowel. Everyone involved in my care and treatment was excellent. I required emergency surgery and I felt safe in the hands of the surgical team. I was on Heybridge Ward for over 2 weeks and found all the staff very professional, caring, competent and kind. I saw the consultant, Miss Conn today in out patient clinic and she was very reassuring. I have no worries about returning to the ward for follow up surgery in the next few months.

I'm very grateful to be better thanks to Miss Conn and her team.
