"Excellent service"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18)

(as the patient),

A few weeks ago I had a heart attack whilst I was in church. I had chest pains which came and went 3 times but the 4th time the pain did not go, I went to the vestry where someone was shocked to see me so ashen. They called 999 – the ambulance crew were first class and rushed me to Monklands Hospital.

The doctors and nurses there were wonderful, all of them so kind. One doctor, I think he was called John Paul, came to see me when I was being transferred to Hairmyers Hospital for further tests – he shook my hand and reassured me I would be fine and I’d be well looked after at Hairmyers. One nurse always put her arms around me and made me feel really special. The treatment I received was second to none.

I then spend a further couple of days at Hairmyers undergoing further tests. Again the treatment could not have been better. I cannot remember the names of all the staff but recall a nurse called Rhona who was very good, as they all were.

I wanted to thank the NHS for the excellent treatment I received. Hospitals receive so much negative press but my treatment was so very good.
