"Gut wrenchingly poor service"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My wife fell and cut her head leaving a 13cm laceration and was transported by ambulance to LRI.

On arrival my wife was made to go through an aggressive questioning session by what a appeared to be a very fed up nurse which eventually lead to my my wife asking them to leave.

A doctor looked at my wife's wound and said she would require 13 stitches.

Instead of stitching the wound the shift manager decided it could be glued.

Needless to say a week later it came unstuck and my wife was required to return to the hospital and have the stitches. When we returned nobody on the shift could believe anyone would have tried to glue a 13cm head wound!

Total rubbish

Dear reviewer,

We are really sorry to hear about your experience in A&E and about the care your wife received in the department. We would like to look into your concerns so we can improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please send your wife’s details to communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and we’ll investigate.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Your feedback is very important to us.

Kind regards,

Communications team,
