after being admitted to the eau ward I was not able to access any medication on the day of admission, the next morning one nurse [sister] was on the phone speaking to nurse who was an hour and a half late for work expressing the need for them to get in as quickly as they could. late nurse turns up only to stand in front of me with their back to me and stood there for at least 4 to 5 minutes firstly scratching and poking at her ear they then continued to scratch their backside before moving a few bits about and moving on to a patient, no hand washing took place and had I been well enough would have got out of there as fast as I could. later on that day I was moved to another ward where one nurse in particular attended to me in a very orderly and professional manner sadly it went downhill and for the next four days was it was a total inexcusable farce. in a side room for the next 3 days because I am fed by tube was bypassed and not even offered a cup of tea, the first nurse came back on nightshift on day two so I explained what had happened so they made me a cup of tea and left a sign in the kitchen to say I should be offered a beverage, when they came back on night duty the same cup of tea they had made me was still there empty with no offer yet again. The drugs I needed were not available so they got one alternative that was not viable because it had to be crushed to go through my peg and only blocked the tube up and I got 1 that I could use, after which I got none although the drugs had been signed for by 2 people. I did not receive them so I was left in a great deal of pain. The bathroom in the room I was in had not seen a cleaner for 3 days and by this time I was very angry and tried to discharge myself, I had to go into meltdown before the bathroom was cleaned, then I got a new night nurse who asked me how to use the drip to which my reply was its your job to know not mine leaving me with the impression they had no idea what they were doing. I had only been given 2 feeds and this same nurse said to me I could wait till tomorrow for my next feed and this was after having only 2 feeds in 5 days. The person who was changing my bed was very good at doing their job but while chatting away revealed they had just bought a claw hammer and hacksaw that they just bought for no reason, leaving me feeling a little dismayed. This review could easily be twice as long but I am only giving the bare minimum and I must say I would only be admitted again if it were to be life threatening.
