"Kept in the dark"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

I attended the CAT dept on 19th October with my elderly and diabetic father for his appointment.

We were on time, registered but were not called until 30mins past our appointment time. At no time did anyone tell us there would be a delay.

After 25 mins I asked at the counter if they had forgotten us.

I was told that as A and E patients come in to be seen oother appointments are pushed back.

I can completely understand this BUT it would be SO easy to tell patients this as they register or to have a sign up to state this.

I have a lot of respect for the NHS but come on DRI this is not good customer service and my 83 yr old father who was already anxious was becoming even more so .

I would appreciate a response to this.
