I was attending my routine occupational health appointment at university for a hepatitis b booster jab today it turns out I also got a side shot of attitude.
The way the nurses behaved was In my opinion disrespectful. I though they were completely mean there was a sign on one door but not another we knocked on one and waited but nothing happened so we knocked on the other door a nurse opened the doors and said "it says knock and wait for a reason. " Then a few minutes later the door opened and the nurse said next we looked at her a bit bemused and she said "right you in here. " Pointing at me I tried to explain my appointment was later but she snapped "it doesn't matter just come in" throughout my time waiting in reception for my friends to go through what appeared to be some kind of neolithic torture several times the door would open and a fresh batch of attitude was hurled out at the innocent young students just trying to make something of themselves.
I find it highly disturbing that the role model we are being set and the first nurses we come into contact with as student nurses could be acting like this. they are not setting a good example for us are they.
