"Terrible"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

I have colitis and gestational diabetes for which I don't take any medication. I have been bleeding a lot leading to weightless, aswell as being anaemic and weak due to the loss !

On Friday I went to see a midwife who referred for me to b induced yesterday (Monday). Now I checked in at 10am and by 6 pm I Ws getting quite annoyed as we agreed they would break my water to get my labour started ! By 6pm I was advised by the gyno that I didn't need to be induced (now this shouldn't have been their decision as they are not expert in colitis n bloodloss!) Instead they insisted i should take asacol! Firstly medication takes a few weeks to work! Secondly I don't like taking meds for my condition as I have forgives how to deal with it! My bleeding will stop once the baby's head is not pressing against my intestines... I know my body well and have had 2 children previously! Anyways the delivery ward was busy and I understand that there were other people who were priority! And had I been told the wards busy I would have just went home! I can understand that it is outside staffs control on how busy the wards will be! I am just mad that I had to ask and they made me sit around 8 hrs before informing me, and then instead of apologising threy were making excuses to why I should not be there !!!! Terrible how they treated me ! And my hubby took time off work, my mum had to fly over to me to help with the children as I was not expecting t be induced!the staff are inefficient and the management would be ashamed !!!! It is jus curtesy to keep a sick pregnant women informed! The stress was just unnecessary!

I will be looking into proper complaints procedures as no one should go throu being treated so badly!
