"Professional attention as aways."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Professional attention as aways.

What could be improved

Staffing levels. especially so in A&E. Even at slack times (5am to 7am). Treat all clients as equal, not just clients under sixty. Why does DMH discriminate against older people? Is it because DMH systems no longer class older clients as productive members of society? The attitude would seem to be that resources are 'channeled' to the under sixties, and whatever remains is 'portioned ' out as sparingly as possible, to the over sixties.

Anything else?

Why do the doctors/nurses presume that anyone over sixty is either hard of hearing, or, unable to comprehend a simple conversation? A raised voice to 'older' people would seem compulsery. Also, presuming that 'old' people are too 'dumb' to understand a simple conversation is generally accepted policy, and an insult to the old.
