I had the misfortune to need hospital care and attention in September due to a kidney problem. I was given a note from my doctor to take to accident and emergency.
Unfortunately I had rather a long wait of four and a half hours which was very uncomfortable as I was in a lot of pain. When I was admitted to the Emergency Care Ward, however, I was given the very best of care and attention from nurses Gemma and Allan. They gave me pain relief which allowed me to sleep.
The following day, I was transferred to Ward 6 (Women's Medical). The care and attention continued in this ward also and I can't thank everyone enough. I feel our hospitals get such bad press and not enough people speak up to compliment all the hard work being done by our conscientious doctors and nursing staff.
