I attended the majority of my checkups at the antenatal clinic. Although there was always a long wait to be seen (put plenty money in the metre if parking your car), I was always informed of the waiting time on arrival.
Every midwife/doctor I met with, were very friendly, informative and reassuring. I enjoyed all my antenatal appointments because of this.
The only improvement I can think of, is air conditioning/fans in the waiting area. During the summer months it became unbareably hot.
Triage were always friendly and informative. The reception staff in the scanning department were a bit disappointing but the sonographers were very good.
I delivered on labour ward, as I wasn't suitable for the birth centre. The midwife who delivered my baby was exceptional. I was lucky enough to have an uncomplicated normal delivery. My midwife was incredible. Encouraging and kind - I had complete trust in them and cannot praise them enough.
The delivery room was clean and comfortable. I had lots of skin to skin time with baby and was helped with breastfeeding.
Postnatal ward was very clean and the way the beds were arranged, allowed for as much privacy as possible on a shared bay. It was quiet the night I stayed and I was able to get some sleep. Help is available if you ask throughout the night.
The following day, my baby had all her checks and I was discharged that afternoon.
I would recommend the hospital to all, based on my experience.
