What I liked
The hospital had a real homely feel about it and the staff on Day Surgery Unit were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They really seemed to have a knack at putting patients at ease. I was allocated my own private little room which was mine until I left the hospital and my wife was allowed to stay until I went to the operating theatre.
In other hospitals I have been in it has felt a bit like a "conveyor belt", presumably because they are so busy, but that was not my experience here where they seemed to have so much more time for you.
It was also a bonus in this day and age not to have to worry about car parking charges. There is ample car parking and it is all free.
What could be improved
It is a pity with such a good hospital that it is so under-utilised. Decisions in recent years about hospital provision just baffle a mere mortal like me.
