"plaster cast removal"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

My son broke his fingers a month ago, the care by the hospital staff has been excellent throughout.

Just a minor critisism: on the removal of his cast with the circular saw he wasn't told that it wouldn't cut flesh, this should be done as a matter of course with children. It would be helpful if this was fed back to the plaster room.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your son's experience in the hospital. I was really pleased to hear of the excellent care he has received. I am very sorry about the poor communication when removing his plaster cast and I have as requested passed your comments to the Matron for the area for discussion with the plaster room staff.

I do hope your son has recovered well and thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience.
