I was recently admitted to Ward 1, Macclesfield Hospital, not knowing what to expect, but feel that I must pass on my opinion of the care and conditions that I received.
1 This was the cleanest hospital ward I have ever experienced. The daily and weekly cleaning routine was carried out religiously. The diligent way that the nursing staff cleaned the mattresses and bedframe between patients was first class.
2 The nursing care was second to none, care and compassion shown to all patients was outstanding, and teamwork showed that morale was high.
3 Doctors were continually on the ward whenever required, regardless of the time.
4 The catering was first class, the home made soups were exceptional and the choice of menu was very good. The portions of puddings I felt, were on the large size and could easily be reduced, especially considering that most patients were not young! One criticism, please do not call ground rice, rice pudding, as this was the only complaint I heard.
5 Contact through the switchboard was always smooth, unlike other hospitals.
Please pass on my comments to The CEO and any other relevant persons.
