"Visit to Breast Clinic after GP referral"

I visited the Breast Clinic today for an appointment to see a Consultant. Reception was efficient with instructions and I had waited in the waiting room for only a few minutes before a nurse called me into the consulting room. The Consultant was attentive when I voiced my concerns to them, not at all dismissive, and after examination suggested that I should have mammograms.

Once again only a few minutes passed before I was called into the mammography suite by the radiographer who was absolutely superb in the way they dealt with me with care, understanding and empathy.

The suite was immaculate as was the equipment.

I then waited a very short while as the results were observed, then saw the Radiology Consultant who reassured me that all was well physically with my breasts and that I had no further need to worry. I was then given a discharge form.

I cannot emphasise enough my praise and appreciation for the way in which my visit was handled, making my experience such a positive one.

My very sincere thanks go to the Consultant and their team for everything they did to help me.

I applaud their work and their department and would like those involved to know that their work is so much appreciated - especially at this time when there is so much negative publicity.
