"Breast cancer worry"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital / Breast surgery

(as the patient),

About 6 weeks ago I found a lump, and went to my Drs, who applied for a space for me at North Tyneside Hospital. Within 2 weeks I attended the breast clinic and saw Mr Moore, who sent me for an ultra scan then took a needle biopsy. Within 45 mins I was told there was nothing to worry about.

I had been in "Rake Lane" as it is known also about 20 yrs ago and had awful memories, and could not get out of it soon enough.

But this time I have nothing but praise, not only for the system, but especially for Mr Moore and his nurse.

They were so considerate and helpful, as was the Dr who did the ultra scan. I was very worried as was my husband who was with me.

I wish to place on record my thanks to all at the outpatients department, especially to Mr Moore.

I also thought the area looked very clean, so I hope they can continue in keeping the area clean.

I do feel a lot of the dirt and grime we hear about is because we no longer have Matrons, I mean proper ones.

PS: I was a trained nurse many years ago and in those days everything was damp dusted every day, and often inspected by Matron on her daily rounds.

The nurses looked smart and clean, "no long hair".
