"Shocking"

About: Ilkeston Community Hospital

Me and my partner waited for nearly 2 hours for a mri scan no communication between the external mri scanning machine and main hospital, I had to bang on the door of the truck to get an answer the staff member that was there to do the scan was rude and unconvincingly sympathetic we had to wait in the main reception of the hospital which is cold and not a practical waiting area especially when waiting for so long. All in all I would say that Ilkeston hospital was a joke 16 years ago and has only gotten worse.

I am sorry to hear that your experience at Ilkeston Hospital was poor. We are very concerned to hear them. Our promise to all our patients is that you will always feel welcome and valued and that your care meets your individual needs. We are sorry that this wasn't your experience when you attended this hospital.

In order for us to investigate this further could you please contact the Patient Experience Team ( 01773 525119) to discuss what happened in more detail. We can then address this with our service or be it another Trust service and look at what needs to be improved. We can also discuss whether you want to make a complaint. I look forward to hearing from you.

Lisa Hallam, Patient Support Officer, Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (DCHS)
