"Thank you QMC maternity teams"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

I wanted to say what a fantastic experience we had when we had our daughter at the QMC in September.

Having been to my community midwife for my 38 week appointment she suspected our baby had turned breech and referred us for an urgent scan. Within a few hours we were seen at QMC. The nurse that scanned us confirmed that our baby was breech, they were fantastic in dealing with our mixture of emotions. Reassuring, kind and we felt like the only people being looking after. We then went on to see a consultant who was equally as great. We were treated with individual care, honesty and empathy. We made the decision to elect for a c section to ensure our baby would be safe.

When we returned to the QMC a week later for our c section we again had nothing but a positive experience with all the staff we encountered. The nurse who was looking after us that day from start to finish was lovely, the team as we waited kept checking on us and provided my partner with food and tea, the surgical team were fantastic in particular the two staff in the anesthetist team. Everyone in that theatre put us at ease, made us feel so comfortable in that situation and looked after us so well.

Once we went on to the ward my biggest thanks goes to my overnight nurse. I was limited on what I could do for my baby and they put me completely at ease. They were always so reassuring and came along with a smile. I was terrified of staying in hospital and was so grateful to have them as the overnight nurse that night.

I cannot fault any of the care we received at the QMC, everyone was just fantastic and looked after us every step of the way. Thank you to everyone who we encountered and helped bring our daughter safely in to our lives.
