"I had a wonderful experience from ..."

About: Leighton Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I had a wonderful experience from admission at 8am until returning to the ward following surgery. After lunch the ward became extremeley busy and the nursing staff worked VERY hard but were too busy to properley keep an eye on me or my diabetes. the final straw was the apalling way that the night nurse spoke to me and treated my request to sleep with the curtains round my bed as the ward was mixed sex although the surgery was elective, I insisted on being discharged the following day. Regrattably one stroppy nurse spoiled an otherwise positive experience for me. .my previous stay of 16 days had been a very positive and if possible enjoyable experience even though it was wo have my leg amputated. I would encourage people to choose Leighton for treatment.

What could be improved

The ward staff were wonderful (apart from one!) but the ward was badly understaffed at times. I know there are costs involved but they shouldn't be expected to care for so many people and do the job properley

Anything else?

I attend many outpatient clinics and physio, I am always treated with respect and have found clinical and clerical staff to be (overall) friendly and approachable. I wouldn't say this about all the hospitals I attend!
