"Dying"

About: Broomfield Hospital

Danbury Ward -

My father was dying, his curtains were wide open for everyone to see, I asked a health care assistant to close them so he and his family could have some dignity and the health care assistant replied it's alright we are used to this. I asked for a nurse to come and check him, when they came they administered two injections then he finally calmed.

Another HCA was sitting in the same ward watching all this going on prior to his family coming to visit.

The HCA alerted no one as they were sitting with a patient reading the paper.

No one called us to say he was dying, it was just lucky we had made an appointment to see the Doctor who alerted no one we made it in time.

I am sorry for the other patients who had to watch this, I'm so sorry for my father who had no dignity in his last hours at Broomfield Danbury Ward. I'm so sorry for my father who was in obvious pain in his last few hours I feel for his family who had to ask for everything to be done.

I'm so sorry for my Mum who had to see again a bed full of mess in his last hour.

It was not the first time.

Danbury Ward you failed in this instance.
