"Attendance to A & E via ambulance upon fall"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

I attended A & E via ambulance at Frimley Hospital last Saturday October the 3rd via ambulance after a trip and fall whilst out shopping. Upon waiting in excess of three hours in minors (of which I totally understand due to high activity) I had to ask another member of the public to get me member of staff to take me to the bathroom, as I was in a wheelchair unable to walk. This was very embarrassing, and is not acceptable standards of care provision. The few staff member who did walk along the corridor in front of minors, avoided making eye contact with anyone in the waiting room during this time. Communication was terribly poor in relation to waiting time expectations, actually communication was awful full-stop. When I finally did get an x-ray, it was reviewed by a nurse and I was told 'no breaks or fractures you can go home now'. I asked for crutches as i was unable to walk, was given crutches and farewells were made. No analgesia given, no follow up plan explained, no nothing. I went to my GP's today (8 days later) as I remained in pain and unable to use my ankle, my GP reviewed the x-ray and advised me that I have infact got a fracture of my ankle! Now I await referrals, and am very very upset and annoyed. Why did no-one call me from the hospital if it was a genuine mistake and the fracture had not been missed initially? Why was I just left to believe I had a sprain, with no analgesia, for the past 8 days? Absolutely disgraceful care by all at Frimley Park Hospital.
