"Care-less"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

Felt I had to write in to complain about the lack of care within the mental health services during out of hours within Musgrove Park Hospital.

I found the Mugsrove Park MAU vey good but when it came to mental health care support it was very poor.

After waiting a relatively long period of time for them to arrive I had a five minute conversation, then to be told I was discharged and to go even though stating I felt unwell in my mind and was hearing voices to kill myself. No support at all, not even a phone call later because they stated they were too busy and short staffed.

I had to be returned to Musgrove via ambulance hours later as emergency again after being found trying to hang myself.

Still no support from Mental Health in Taunton, and told by 111 that I could make my own choices. It was not my choice. I was obviously not thinking right.

I am sorry you feel you did not receive an adequate response from out of hours mental health services (Somerset Partnership) in Taunton whilst at Musgrove Park Hospital.

It is however very difficult to comment further on your experience without details of when this incident happened.

A member of staff would be more than happy to discuss this with you and would encourage you to contact either Sarah Bell or the Taunton Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team Manager via 01823 368 398 or Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation House Trust,

PALS department on 01278 432 022.
