"Horrible experience"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

Was in Friday night waited three and a half hours for triage and then another 7 hours to get me a bed that was 4am i booked in at 8:30pm and didn't get seen by the crisis team until eleven am and finally discharged never going back there again need to hurry up and get more staff because waiting over twenty hours to see crisis team and four hours to see a nurse the receptionist told to my other half there's somebody from crisis team in Ashford they should be here soon and it took till eleven am the next day to talk to crisis team they were supportive too but the nursing staff should be more organised because waiting times of five hours forty three mins to be seen something really needs to be done because the staff are quite judgemental because they don't understand why or how your feeling like you are put physciatric drs on the wards because you can't leave a suicidal person waiting twenty hours to see the crisis team it's not good enough i nearly killed myself but the triage nurse called me just as i was about to leave. They were putting people into the kids wards because there wasn't space anywhere else for them to go i think Margate hospital a n e needs big time improvements and nicer less grumpy staff

I am so sorry to hear about your experience.

A&E at the QEQM is indeed, a very busy department, but you should not have felt unsupported.

We need to investigate the circumstances and to speak to the relevant staff about this.

Please will you contact PALS (the Patient Advice and Liaison Service) by telephoning 01227 783145 or 01227 864314 (please leave a message if you encounter the answerphone) or by email ekh-tr.PALS@nhs.net or by completing an online form which you can find by clicking on the 'complaints' button on the front page of our website www.ekhuft.nhs.net
