"I was on two different wards whilst ..."

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was on two different wards whilst I was there. Both wards were very clean and the staff were very friendly, polite and eager to help with any problems. Even though it was considered a routine operation, they seemed to keep detailed notes about my condition after the operation and regularly asked if I was OK and whether or not I wanted pain killers or anything else.

The meals were hot and plentyfull. I was even asked if I had enough or wanted more.

What could be improved

The wards were very hot even with all the windows open the small amount they were allowed. I don't expect them to spend there limited budget on air conditioning, but maybe a few (possibly ceiling mounted) fans would do the job roughly the same?

Many thanks for your comments, we appreciate the time you have taken to log your views.

Fans are always a debated topic due to air circulation within that ward and although we endeavor to make your stay as comfortable as possible we would not wish for fans to contribute to the possible spread of infections. This is always under individual review on each ward and a decision would be made based on the temperature of the ward and comfort of the patient.
