"Sent home a suicidal patient - trigeminial..."

After being taken into A&E (as advised by a paramedic who then called out an ambulance) my step-father was passed from room to room by arrogant doctors that didn't seem bothered to help him! After around 1 hour he was discharged with the Doctor telling him to up his medication again, the reason for him being bought into A&E is that he had over dosed on medication, does this sound like the wisest advice? Please bare in mind that his medication has been upped to the "maximum level" countless times over the last year! he has been in constant pain for the last 14 days and is getting suicidal.

the night after this hospital visit he again is in uncontrollable pain. we have phoned the 111 NHS help line who were very prompt in answering and moving the situation onto a doctor. This 'doctor' made us fell like we were a great nuisance and fobbed us off saying that we need to call an ambulance.

We had fully explained the situation to them and they made no helpful suggestions. The phone call lasted 2 minute and 23 seconds.

I find this completely unacceptable and am disgusted that both the A&E doctors and the help line doctor showed no sympathy towards his situation and offered only unhelpful and potentially life threatening advice.
