"Respiratory Care"

About: New Cross Hospital

I came for my breathing review three months after my initial assessment.

Reception were very efficient and I was not kept waiting for my initial checks or the in-depth review.

The results from blood test three months before confirmed sensitivity that had been spotted 50 years previously in a different way.

The specialist respiratory nurse spent quality time with me making sure that I understood the implications of my various sensitivities.

The nurse reviewed my peak flow capabilities and suggested adjustments to my medication regime, giving me confidence that my condition was typical of asthma and that it was well-controlled.

There was some surprise at my previous regime which is going to be discussed as part of the post-clinic review with the consultant, though this was not part of the current visit for me.

Overall, I felt that I was carefully and effectively examined with helpful explanations given of the various tests and terms involved; I have been given useful advice about what to do should my condition deteriorate.

Car parking on this occasion was hard to find within the hospital grounds.

I would have texted comments if the phone-call had given me time to check my mobile number, but actually email is easier.
