"anti natal 12week scan"

About: Leighton Hospital

at 10 weeks I had an early scan due to stomach pains. I called twice before my 12 week scan to double check u could definitely have the appointment due to an earlier scan to be reassured I would definitely have a scan. This morning I was excited to see my baby. Once I was in the scan room I was completely shocked to be told I cannot have the scan. I was spoken to rudely and was told they will only scan me today if I had the different screening tests which I did not Want

I felt pressured Into signing the forms to say I wanted the screening.

When being scanned the sonographer was extremely abrupt and didn't even tell tell me how far gone I was or my due date.

The nurse that took my blood after explained I was 13 + 3 and the receptionest on my departure told me my due date.

I cried at the hospital And this was ment to be a nice experience

I am sorry that your experience caused you so much upset.

We are currently reviewing our policy regarding the scanning of patients who have already had their pregnancy dated in another clinical area. If you would like to discuss your specific concerns, then the customer care team would be happy to help you. Please contact them on 01270 278098. Kind Regards Elizabeth Price, Maternity Outpatients Department Manager
