"Very happy with the care we had"

About: Darent Valley Hospital

I was in slow labour for 2 days. I had been seen in the Tambootie ward and felt at ease that they were keeping an eye on both myself and baby. Baby had a high heart rate and I was dehydrated. Stayed over night on Cedar ward to monitor us both. I went home as they thought the labour may take a few more days or up to a week even. I went back about 12 hours later as was having strong contractions but they were all over the place. It was more my sickness that was causing issues. Staff monitored me and baby again and gave me a drip. They realised I was ready to go to the delivery suite and that happened nice and quick which I was pleased about. Because of my sickness I wanted an epidural but then everything happened too quickly! I felt my midwife, Amber was brilliant and really helped me through it. I feel all of this made my labour much better and the after care was good too. The staff were all really good and nice at every stage.
