"Neurology"

My review is purely based on neurology,I'm seeing a number of specialists but this particular specialist I feel should give up even dealing with people as they are rude arrogant me doesn't do their job properly and thinks they above everyone else . Iv been seeing a doctor due to severe migraines and been treated by the headache team who are great. I recently had an appointment with this doctor due to a letter being sent to them from my ophthalmologist asking them to carry out some test I.e an Mri due to some eye problems to help them out and they had just written them off as they had previously done some blood tests which had come back negative, they hadn't bothered to read the letter properly. Right from the start of the meeting their attitude to me was just out of order and plain rude. They treat me like I was asking them to diagnose me with something else when I only wanted to get tests done as requested and receive the correct treatment. They were going on about migraines which I couldn't understand as I was there to discuss the letter from the ophthalmologist. They said in their words they were the best neurologist there was and had letter behind their name and knew exactly what was going on in my head. They said a computer has a hard drive they said if they were a computer they would be the hard drive. They kept looking me up and and down, I told them not to speak to me like that and that I wasn't after anything but treatment and just because I was overweight due to having surgery and medication and because I had a walking stick didn't make me think, iv just recently retired as a police detective, I wasn't after any kind of diagnosis or wanting them to tell me something get me into benefits as I don't qualify as that's what they said I was trying to do , my husbands works so we don't qualify iv never claimed in my life.

They carried on talking down their nose to me and said most things are actually psychological,and are just in people's head even though I have been diagnosed with cluster migraines and I take topirimate and iv got X-rays that show I have this it's never been in dispute iv only been seeing them to try and control it. I eventually pointed out to them that I was actually there due to my opthamologist at st James had wrote asking them to carry out some tests instead of referring me to another neurologist they sat there and said they hadn't seen the letter but they had written the letter off, at this they changed tact and said they would do an MRI and would some electric probe testing. On my very first meeting with them the first thing they said was I'm running 20 minutes late so we have to be quick, in the meeting they said they were going to get some tests done but never did my doctor had to write to them to who which they wrote back apologising and arranged for the tests I have the letter to prove it. Their secretary is no better they're never at their desk and never returns your calls I intend on changing doctors .
