Today I had a Gastroscopy at Heatherwood. From entering the hospital I was well looked after by staff who were friendly and polite. Though it's not a pleasant experience it went well thanks to the team's professionalism and real desire to make it as easy as possible for me. A special thank you to the Nurse and the Consultant and their team. Though I hope I won't be back soon, if I do I hope I get the same team.
Whilst writing I think it's worth saying that I have had to have a few procedures on the NHS, including, with no exaggeration, almost certainly saving my life in an emergency situation. Almost without exception I have found the staff incredibly professional and talented and keen to treat patients as humans, sensitive to their fears and needs.
