"Disgraceful Treatment"

About: Birmingham Children's Hospital

Pure communication and my daughter discharged without being shown how to care for her after as she's in a spica cast by occupational health which is putting her at potential risk.

Also nurses listening to a parent swearing at their child and hitting him yet nothing done about it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you.

With regard to your treatment I am sorry that you weren't given enough information about your daughter's Spica cast. It would never be our intention to send someone home without the right level of information for them to feel confident about the treatment or care their child needs. It would be helpful for us to understand how we could improve what information you were given and also how it would be best given to you. If you wish to, could you please contact Lisa Hutchinson on 0121 333 8403 who would be happy to discuss this further with you and she would also discuss the further the additional issue you raise.

I sincerely hope that your daughter is doing well and making good progress.

With best wishes,

Janette Vyse

Deputy Head of Nursing

Patient Experience Lead.
