About: Gravesham Community Hospital

Today Thursday 09/10/2015 had to have a blood test so went to the clinic at 08/15 hours took a numbered ticket from machine and sat and waited for clinic to start ,while sitting in the waiting area looking through the small window into the room where sample's are taken a person walk in the back door and chats to nurse has his sample taken walks out still not 09 00 hours yet. Doors open first number goes in, second number goes in and so on by this time waiting room full people sitting outside but all have taken a ticket so they know when to go in at 09/20 hours phone rings in clinic nurse answers and says ill come and get her they walk out meets lady takes her straight into have her sample or what ever taken she has now jumped the queue by twenty people this is a abuse of position and do hope it does not reflect on all hospitals

Hello

Many thanks for your review.

The Senior Phlebotomist has provided the following explanation. The tickets are put out every day at 08:30 hours for members of the public. We provide a service for staff members between 8:30 and 09:00, who have previously booked, as a privilege to them prior to their working day. The client that is being highlighted in your review is someone who had a booked an appointment for a clinical condition, and as they are in a wheelchair, the main reception staff have an arrangement with the phlebotomy staff to let them know that they have arrived.

We hope that this information helps to explain your experience in Phlebotomy last Thursday and we hope your future visits are more positive ones.

Best wishes
