I have myasthenia gravis.
I was taken into hospital with a chest infection and difficulties swallowing in mid-August 2015. I was treated with antibiotics, fitted with an NG tube for medication and feeding, given a five-day course of IV immunoglobulins and started on steroids.
I was kept in clinical assessment unit before being transferred to General Ward A12 where I was in the care of the General Medicine staff and visited by Neurology staff. I was also advised and assisted by a speech therapist and a dietician.
I was very happy with the care that I received. I was discharged after 20 days.
