"Best of the best."

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

My visit to A&E was in April 2014 (I would have commented sooner but I've only just found this page by chance) following a backward fall which caused an impacted fracture to my right wrist. I arrived in some pain but not unbearable and expected to have a long wait, much to my surprise I hadn't even got to an empty chair when the Triage Nurse called me through, examined my wrist and took some details of the fall I'd had then sent me straight to X-Ray where it was confirmed that I had an impacted fracture. I was then guided to an examination area where I had to wait a while whilst the nurse found me two doctors to manipulate the fracture back into place and put a half cast on, I then had a further X-Ray to check the alignment and was sent home with my appointment to return to see the Orthopedic Surgeon two days later. The whole experience took no more than two hours, I was treated with care and respect by all staff during my A&E visit, throughout my Out Patient visits and my follow up treatment with the Physiotherapist. Thank you RAE Infirmary you're doing all right!

Thank you so much for letting us have your most positive comments following your attendance at A&E and x-ray and your subsequent follow up appointments in Orthopaedics and with the Physiotherapy department. I will ensure that these are shared accordingly.

Kind regards
