Many thanks to the doctor in the A&E and the doctor in the Imaging department who I saw on Saturday morning. Both were incredibly professional, helpful and kind - everything you could possibly want from medical staff!
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the nurse that I saw before that. I've never seen such a terrible attitude. When I saw the nurse for the initial examination, the nurse barely looked at me the whole time, let alone managed a smile. Whenever the nurse asked me a question they interrupted before I had finished answering. Also, I don't know whether it was their poor English, or whether the nurse simply couldn't be bothered to listen to me, but I had to keep explaining the same things over and over again.
I had also seen this same nurse when I had come to the A&E on the previous evening, and their behaviour was much the same. After the nurse said that it would be a six-hour wait to see a doctor, I said that I would rather go home and come back in the morning, when it was quieter. The nurse immediately warned me that if I did that and my eye got any worse, I had better not come back and say that "that nurse told me it was fine to go home". I was so shocked, I didn't know how to respond. When I said that I wouldn't do something like that, and the nurse just glared at me, walked out of the cubicle and called for the next patient. Not even a goodbye.
I've never felt compelled to leave a bad review for anyone - until I met this nurse. I was disgusted with their behaviour. It's a shame that I can't leave a higher review, since I couldn't have been happier with the rest of the staff that I met at Moorfields.
"Amazing doctors, appalling nurse"
