I went to the first counseling session with an open mind having previously had a phone conversation with the bereavement counsellor. I was concerned that the sessions might stir up issues that I thought I had dealt with. No problem!
The counsellor was absolutely brilliant. She was very intuitive picking up on issues that were causing me concern without any obvious prompts from myself.
We systematically worked through as many issues as the time allowed. I kept a journal at her request which enabled me to focus further on issues that were affecting me on a day to day basis as well as longer term issues.
The only negative is that 6 weeks were not enough, I have further issues to deal with but the counsellor left me adequate sign posts to continue on a self help basis but I feel I may need further sessions in the future
