"Please avoid the BUPA Cromwell Hospital"

I went in for a TKR Revision & chose the Cromwell Hospital for convenience in date of the operation.

Theatre & Medical staff on the day of operation were really good and put me at ease.

The RMO who appeared to have responsibility for pain management never showed her face but apart from one excellent HCA - the rest on the 4 floor ward were totally ambivalent. Nursing staff came and went - mostly agency staff and one even said it was an "in-between" shift! I was left for an hour before I was taken to the toilet - with the buzzer on.

I was told that I would be seen after "hand-over" but the HCA 'forgot" to tell anyone and went home.

Buzzer went off again but no one turned up until staff came round to give out medication for the night.

Catering staff got meals all muddled up and I even played a game as to how many points to be deducted from missing stuff from trays.

The less said about the food the better.

Physio were good and helpful and keen to get the best out of the patients.

Discharge was appalling.

I found out after my discharge that physio and further consultation appointments had not actually been booked for the given dates.

Please avoid the Cromwell Hospital if you can.
