"The extended visiting hours made ..."

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The extended visiting hours made it easier for my husband to visit each day from Preston.

What could be improved

The cleanliness of the toilets. The toilets were often dirty, stained with blood, urine or faeces. On one occasion I reported to the staff that one of the toilets had had a bedpan with liquid faeces for over 7 hours. The toilet often smelt strongly of urine. I would suggest that they provide toilet wipes for patients to use especially as I was on a surgical ward where lots of people were being treated for bowel problems.

Thank you for your email and the Trust are glad to hear that the extended visiting hours assisted you with visiting your husband. We will pass your comments on regarding the cleanliness of toilets on the ward to the relevant Operations Manager.

Kind regards
