Had a colonoscopy earlier today in the Endoscopy Suite of the Oncology Centre.
Staff were friendly and efficient from start of process in the reception area, in the operating theatre and in the waiting area afterwards.
Had a bit of trouble with the bowel preparation medication I had to take in the morning, the second lot of the moviprep causing me to throw up! But, apart from that, the day went very well, and left the hospital mid-afternoon feeling very well.
One suggestion for improvement, the information I received with my appointment letter did not make it clear that sedation was optional.
I arranged for someone to pick me up, but, in the event, I did not have sedation, so was able to walk home on my own.
Better to indicate beforehand that sedation is optional.
Or does the hospital like to have someone to contact "just in case"?
