My mother was booked in to have a chest xray at the Minor injuries department on Tuesday 29th Sept.
Hospital transport was arranged and when we arrived the staff were surprised to hear that my mother needed a wheel chair, oxygen and a turntable to transfer her from the transport wheelchair.
They informed me very politely that she should have been booked into the Torbay hospital as they did not really have facilities for anyone so immobile.
I cannot speak highly enough of our treatment.
The staff did everything they could to accomodate my Mum and me.
They allowed us to sit in one of their treatment rooms as they felt the waiting room would be too cold for Mum.
They were therefore a room short for a couple of hours and were chasing round to find space for themselves.
The xray was carried out exactly on time and Mum was brought back very quickly. They phoned to arrange our transport home and followed it up when we were kept waiting.
I would like to thank them all for their excellent treatment and care in a very difficult situation for them.
