"Lack of sensitivity from doctor"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I suffered a miscarriage, and on going to urgent care ( as instructed by doctor) the doctor I saw told me that I was wrong and had not been pregnant. He showed me a urine test in front of the waiting room full of people and then repeated that I had not miscarried and was not pregnant. He wouldn't listen to me explaining (not my first pregnancy so I was not naive) and there were some problems with communication.

My GP was appalled and sent me to the EPAU where I was scanned and it was verified that I was losing the baby. I was then given a note for time of work and information about what would happen and how I might feel.

The situation in itself is very upsetting, but being treated that way at such a difficult time was appalling. I did try to complain via pals at the time but was told that urgent care are separate so never got anywhere.

I am sorry to hear about your experience at the Urgent Care Centre at the Princess Royal University Hospitals.

The UCC is indeed run by a different organisation, Greenbrook Healthcare.

Should you wish to contact them, please contact then on Tel: 01689 863 050
