"No Empathy and No Care."

About: Hemel Hempstead Hospital

I attended this hospital following a referral from my GP after a fall in Spain. My notes were assessed and I was sent a letter informing me that after review in the virtual clinic I would be discharged. I was told in Spain I had a suspected fractured knee and ligament and tendon damage and would need further assessment. I attended the plaster clinic to have my plaster removed (as requested) and was given a follow up appointment 2 weeks later after I put pressure on. I subsequently cancelled this appointment as I had been left in pain with no advice on how to manage my mobility and future care. I had even sent in a letter of complaint and got no reply. I have informed my GP and been referred for further physio because after 7 weeks I am still in some discomfort and pain and weakness. At a time when I was vulnerable and in distress I needed support, advice and a plan to get better. I got none of this at this hospital. The only "advice" I was given was that a brace I was given would be the only treatment I would get no matter what the problem was with my leg.
