"wasted expense"

I have recently received 2 letters on the same day for an appointment on 20th October 2015 for the orthopaedic and fracture clinic and this appears to be the case every time I have an appointment. If you multiply this up by every patient that is in a similar situation, the amount of expenditure for postage and paper and time must add up to a considerable sum.

Considering that the NHS is struggling to meet targets due to lack of funding, the total saved by only sending out one advise notice would no doubt be considerable nation wide.
