"Horrible treatment during first labour"

About: Epsom Hospital

I had my son in February 2015 and had a very long labour. The first midwife who treated me was rude, patronising and negative. Their attitude was stressing me out at a crucial time I needed to be relaxed. They also left me alone in pain for hours and told me off when I winced or cried in pain from the agonising contractions I was having from a long back to back labour.

The next midwife I had was fantastic and how all of the midwives should be and luckily calmed me down.

43 hours later they finally gave me a c-section as they realised my baby was stuck.

After care was exactly appalling leaving me without painkillers, making me partner leave as soon as I reached the ward despite not being able to move.

Looking back on my labour and birth at Epsom fills me with frustration and anger at how I was treated. I would urge pregnant women to think carefully about giving birth here.
