"Visit to A&E last night"

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

we visited A&E last night at around 8pm - my son who is 10 years old, had injured his knee playing football.

We were seen not be the regular triage nurse but called by a nurse practitioner who was working in a small room with another nurse.

We were seen within 30 minutes and the department was fairly busy.

The treatment my son and us as parents received was excellent.

His knee was thoroughly examined and the nurse explained to my son what they were doing and why they were doing it every step of the way.

Fortunately just some slight soft tissue damage.

We received great advice on how to treat the knee in the coming days.

I was very impressed and I would like to offer my personal thanks to this member of staff (if anyone from the hospital reads these regularly).
