"A beautiful unit with unparalleled care"

In this day and age people are so quick to complain about organisations and services. People normally only engage in feedback if something is unsatisfactory or has gone wrong. I however, want to redress this imbalance by taking the time and trouble to put in writing how exceptional my experience at the Wycombe Hospital was. I think positive experiences should be acknowledged as well as the negative ones!

I was referred to the Wycombe breast clinic for a lump to be investigated in September 2014 at 09: 15. This appointment was scheduled for me WITHIN a week of visiting my GP in Tring.

I was so impressed with your staff, facilities, time-keeping, efficiency and care that I felt I had to express this to your patient feedback team.

I arrived in time for my appointment and was seen dead-on the scheduled appointment time of 09: 15. Your facilities were absolutely outstanding; clean, immaculate, pleasant, informative, calm and welcoming. The staff were all incredibly friendly, efficient, reassuring and professional and an absolute pleasure to deal with. And my treatment was so thorough, accurate and swift that I was stunned!

After my initial assessment and consultation I was given a mammogram, followed by an ultrasound, which resulted in the immediate location and draining of a large cyst. The service was so streamlined and well synchronised that I didn’t even have time to open a page of the book I’d brought with me to occupy me in the waiting area. There was no waiting! I’d leave one treatment area and be called to another before I even had time to sit down. Amazing! I actually left the clinic after just one hour’s attendance – and in that time I’d been booked in, assessed, thoroughly examined, scanned twice, treated AND had a post treatment consultation.

I cannot thank you enough for proving such a beautiful unit and such unparalleled care and treatment. Your breast facility and the staff are a true credit to the NHS. And the department and it’s staff deserve to be acknowledged for their incredible attitude and work.
