"Contact problems"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Following my elderly father's admission into A & E last night, it has been impossible right up to the time of this posting to make contact with anybody ( main switchboard and A & E ) to establish the situation as of this morning.

The main switchboard just rings - 30 mins today - and nobody answers. The number for A & E on the Hospital website just goes to N/U. All I want to do is to speak to someone, but am finding this alone an extremely stressful experience.

Dear Anonymous

I am so sorry to learn of the difficulties that you encountered in contacting the hospital. Our switchboard is constantly manned and aims to answer all calls promptly, so I can only apologise that you were unable to get through quickly. I have been unable to find a direct number for A&E on our website, but if you can contact me to let me know where this is shown, I will ensure that is checked.

If you need any further assistance, please contact our PALS office, on 020 8401 3210 or at ch-tr.pals@nhs.net and our staff there will be happy to help.

Graham Richardson, Deputy Manager, PALS and Complaints
