i was admitted to a room due to me been in a wheelchair as i went into the room without a shower or disabled facilities in the room at all.
as i looked around the small room that i could not maneuver my chair round i was very upset that i was told that only one hour before that a room with all facilities for me was ready ? i went into a toilet that i could not get into very easy then i looked there was faeces up the walls on the floor all over the toilet sink doors it was then all over my wheelchair wheels my hands. i was totally disgusted that only one hour before i came to hospital for a double hernia operation.
i was told the room was ready who checked the room a blind person i think i then had to wait for over 6 hours before the room was cleaned. Not even an apology was given what also apould me was that down the same corridor was a proper room with all the facilities i required and was full of boxes.
I asked where the showers were i was told that i had to go down the corridor take a right then a left and it was at the other end of the third corridor again it must of been a blind person i asked.
i think that the hospital was not built with any patient in a wheelchair at all i have needs that you would think that nhs staff would no about but do not.
i have been back and forth to the hospital since my operation and would you believe it i have now contracted MRSA the doctor said i would not have got or been infected at home so it is from a department some place at the hospital.
