"I attended the casualty section ..."

About: Mary Hewetson Cottage Hospital (Keswick)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I attended the casualty section of the hospital on Saturday April 25th 2009. I had fallen off my mountain bike and had deep wounds to my arm and leg.

From the outset the staff were amazing. I was seen quickly and had the best treatment imaginable.

The nursing staff showed great understanding of my injuries and all of them were very interested in my wellbeing.

Each staff member was very friendly and as I needed around 3 hours of treatment took time to chat about me and my interests/family as well as providing some insights into their own lives which provided a great insight into living in such a rural location.

I'm normally very good with names but on this occasion (probably due to the circumstances) am unable to remember the staff names. I do know they were all great and feel singling one out a little unfair, but I need to mention the nurse who stitched up my wounds. A terrific job has been done and scarring will certainly be at a minimum. Both the nurse and doctor I have seen subsequently at my own practice have been amazed at the stitching of my arm.

Thank you to all of the staff.

What could be improved

Nothing could have been improved about my treatment.
