In August I had to go into the Gilles ward at Notts city hospital.. I was absolutely petrified having never been in hospital for anything in my life, I'm extremely scared of needles and pain full stop.. I had to go into hospital for surgery on my leg having had an accident and cutting my leg open..
The moment I walked into the city hospital the staff were so friendly and especially on the Gilles ward.. From the reception to the nurses to the surgeon I was made to feel relaxed and in great care this put my nerves at ease.. The nurses were lovely and the man who took me to and from theatre was a really caring man who could see how frightened I was..
After the surgery I was so scared to look at my leg as the wound beforehand was pretty awful and I thought my leg would never look the same again... 3 weeks later I plucked up the courage to look at my injury, I very surprised to see just how well my wound had healed, the scar has healed well and quickly. The 5cm gash I had was now a neat also invisible scar.
I cannot thank the staff enough for how well I was treated that day and how well my leg has been repaired, I would like to say a huge thank you for putting up with me and getting me better fast!
"I was made to feel relaxed and in great care"
