"In the main the nursing staff ..."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

In the main the nursing staff were excellent.

Excellent main reception.

A complaint was rapidly acted upon.

New food menu good but too complex

What could be improved

Not enough access to doctors!

No proper review of condition and outlook by doctors and specialists. I had to force a situation to get any response!

Felt rather like an annoying vegetable!

Lack of knowledge and understanding by catering contractors. (Constantly offering and giving sugar and high carbohydrate foods to diabetic patients. Also failed to understand problems with older/confused patients)

New food supply regimen/menu/process VERY badly organised (eg. lunch normally delivered on time but now any time over a 1.5 hour period!! Food menu too complex.

Anything else?

Would like to have had wifi internet available to PATIENTS! There is a LOT of it around hospital but all for staff! Cost of TV and normal phone is HUGELY expensive!! Waste of money!!
